Picking up the shattered pieces,
the jagged edges
drain the heart,
stain the ground.
I beat my chest,
scream at the clouds,
and wonder how long
will the blood flow.
How long will it take
to put me back together?
I will never be,
me,
again.
I sift through the pieces
with time they smooth
These pieces,
the pieces of my life
have changed
some are missing
some no longer belong to me.
I place each one upon the next
rebuilding
me
in pieces.
